We're back with our favourite and long-standing Barcelona sponsors, aql and will enjoy the delights of their very own bar. If you haven't visited before, you're in for a treat. Expect a friendly crowd, lots of chat about mobile, life, the universe and why Swedish Beers is called Swedish Beers and much more. There will be refreshments (soft drinks are available and in plentiful supply) courtesy of our lovely friends at aql. There will be people from all walks of mobile life there on the night - be that app developers, advertising, media, mobile marketing, handset manufacturers, payment providers, big data, brands, agencies, analysts, journalists, start-ups, veterans, noobs and much more. Come alone or come with a friend but do come.

About our sponsors
Lead sponsor and host: aql
If you've been to Swedish Beers in Barcelona before, you may well remember aql's founder, Adam, and his crew from as they've supported us for several years now and are well known in Leeds and the surrounding area. They really know their onions when it comes to voice, SMS and hosting - feel free to test them on their knowledge on the night! They've been in the mobile business for a very long time, have the most amazing data centre in a converted church in Leeds and are great fun to boot. Meet the gang to chew the mobile fat, enjoy a few beers and have a good time. Find out more about aql on the night or from their website.
Supporting sponsor: Inspiring Interns
If you've been to any of the London Swedish Beers parties, it's more than likely you've met onre or more of the Inspiring Interns team. They now have a new office in Manchester so they're also supporting Swedish Beers Goes North. Inspiring Interns is a graduate recruitment agency connecting talented graduates with top companies and start-up businesses across the UK with offices in London and Manchester. Come and hang out with Martin and his friendly team.

I'd like to thank our fabulous sponsors, BuzzCity, US Tax & Financial Services, Inspiring Interns and Fantastic Services once again for providing us with a goodly amount of beer, wine, soft drinks and chats.

If you're wondering when the next Swedish Beers is, it will be on 4th November up in Leeds with our friends at AQL. I can be persuaded to do another London one if there's a sponsor or two interested in supporting. Get in touch if you'd like to support either a Leeds or a London bash.
|Join us on 14 to 16 August in Kent for the first Hacklands Festival of Technology. Tickets available now at http://hacklandsuk.com|
But if you fancy a shindig before then, the Swedish Beers team is producing Hacklands Technology Festival in Kent on 14 to 16 August. Why not mashup a bit of geekery, chat, music, comedy, food, camping and a campfire and join us at our 48 hour hackathon and festival on a farm in West Kent?

Yes, it’s just a few days to go until our next party in London. It's coming up for midsummer so it's about time we had another Swedish Beers party. For those of you who were in Barcelona, it's time to relive some of the memories and for those of you who weren't, then it's time to create some memories of your own in London town.
Drinks are courtesy of Buzzcity (mobile advertising specialists and our lead sponsor for the evening), Inspiring Interns (recruitment agency focussed on graduate roles), Fantastic Services (London’s largest cleaning company who are about to launch their cleaning app) and US Tax and Financial Services (there’s nothing these guys don’t know about tax issues for US citizens in the UK or for UK citizens and businesses headed Stateside).
There'll be plenty drinks to go around of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties. There is food available to buy on the night if you haven't had time to grab a bite to eat before you come.
We're back at our favourite London joint, The Nordic Bar, where Swedish Beers began back in 2001 in the mists of mobile time. Doors will be open from 6.15pm and the bar has a late licence until midnight for those of you who want to stay up late on a school night.
If you haven't been before, expect a friendly crowd, lots of chat about mobile, life, the universe and why Swedish Beers is called Swedish Beers. There will also be beer pong (yes, there's a ping pong table) and, of course, refreshments (soft drinks are available and in plentiful supply) courtesy of our lovely sponsors. There will be people from all walks of mobile life there on the night - be that app developers, advertising, media, mobile marketing, handset manufacturers, payment providers, big data, brands, agencies, analysts, journalists, start-ups, veterans, noobs and much more. There have already been a lot of RSVPs on eventbrite already. Why not join them? Come alone or come with a friend but do come.
Date: Wednesday 17 June 2015
Time: 6.15pm until closing
Place: The Nordic Bar, Newman Street, London W1 (nearest tube Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Circus or Goodge Street)
You can RSVP below or over on Facebook. Either way, it’s free to attend.
This is a Heroes of Mobile event.
A big thank you to our sponsors on the night – Kochava, AQL, Futurice, Drippler and Joshua PR.

This year’s party will be on Wednesday 4 March at Dostrece. And sponsorship funds permitting, we will also operate a nearby chill-out lounge as well. Want to talk sponsorship? Then please get in touch with Helen to discuss. Packages available for all budgets. If you’re a start-up, I have a special deal for you to buy a batch of beer tokens without having to shell out for a full sponsorship package. You can buy those online or get in touch for more info.
Like our previous events, this is a relaxed evening, no formalities, no presentations, no business cards thrust in your face as soon as you arrive. Just come with an open mind, be prepared to see friends old and new, talk nonsense, enjoy a drink or five and have yourself a good time. Oh, and leave the ties, the corporate personas and the sales spiel at the door please. The Swedish Beers crew will be on hand to welcome you as well as the friendliest bar staff in town.
No need to RSVP unless you want to and want a reminder of when and where the party is and to get any updates by email. There’s no official guest list, no tickets and there’s no guaranteed entry. Just come and go as you please.
Of course, none of this could happen without our sponsors.
Introducing our lead sponsor, Kochava
You may have met Futurice before at Swedish Beers in Berlin or London. They're a fab creative technology company, with offices in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Finland, have innovation and digital creativity in its DNA. Renowned for building digital services for people to love, they’re equally at home with enterprise software as they are with consumer products. And they’re not just working on websites and online projects; they’re also experienced in electronics and internet of things. Not only that, but they pride themselves on creating a great place for people to work (they were the No 1 company to work for in Europe in 2012 and 2013) which makes for great client services too. These guys are on a mission to work with people who want to build the world’s most awesome digital services. If that sounds like you, then Futurice are the people to meet. Jarkko and his team will be at Swedish Beers and they’re particularly interested in meeting marketing people, retailers, heads of mobile, innovation leads and people interested in designing and building great digital products and services. They’re a friendly bunch and will happily chat to you about all things mobile. I hope you’ll give Futurice a very warm Swedish Beers welcome!
It is likely to get a bit busy at times. But don’t worry, people will be coming in and out all evening. That’s kind of the point as we know there’s always a lot going on and you might want to check out more than one party. If it’s very busy, there’s no need to queue to get in. Just check out one of the other bars nearby and come back a little later when it’s a bit less frantic.
There is a small cloakroom area at the bar, but it’s not secure so leave the laptops in your hotel room or apartment where they will be safe and won’t get in anyone’s way.
The venue is our favourite haunt with the friendliest bar staff in town, Dos Trece -http://dostrece.net/ We’ll be open from 7pm through until the early hours.
See you in Barcelona!

I know it’s been a month since we all put the mobile world to rights at the Swedish Beers party in London, but I’ve only just had time to upload the photos for you.
A few thank yous are in order – Firstly to the fabulous sponsors – Open Mobile Media, Inspiring Interns (thank you for bringing the ping pong table and organising Beer Pong. What a hoot!), Futurice and US Tax & Financial Services. Thank you to the venue – The Victoria Park Plaza Hotel – you did a great job for us. And to the volunteers who helped me run the event, especially Shafiq for the photos. Speaking of which…
Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.
They’re also up on Facebook too if that’s your thing.
I don’t yet have a date for the next Swedish Beers. Get in touch if you’d like to sponsor one.
Meanwhile, you might be interested in one of Cooladata’s upcoming events in London, Amsterdam and New York talking about behavioural analytics. There’s a webinar too for those of you who can’t meet in person. OK, so it’s not a beer and chat type event, but for those of you interested in monetising mobile (that’s most of you, isn’t it?), it may well be of interest. More info here.
